Beyond The Chalk: Digital Classroom

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Google education technology for the classroom provides educators with tools for digital portfolios, online assessment, data visualization, word processing, peer-to-peer collaboration, and more. These tools can play big roles in the classroom and information sharing. These tools from Google, whether old and familiar or new and improved, help to keep educators and students inspired, inventive, and organized. Google tools like Google Drive and Google Classroom serves as a hub for the exchange of information. By learning to use these resources, an educator can better manage the different pieces of work they create and students turn in. This workshop will focus on the use of Google tools to help manage the steady flow of work. We will explore the different ways; educators can create a digital environment by using Google tools as a hub to connect resources with students/users. Participants will have an opportunity to explore all aspects of Google tools available for educators.

OBJECTIVE OF THE WORKSHOP
The goal of this workshop is to promote the use of Google tools that help success for teachers, and most importantly students. This workshop is designed to transform the traditional learning environment beyond the classroom walls and hands-on training will be provided for freely available Google tools. The workshop will consist of modules based on a topic. Participants will be engaged in learning about the many aspects of Google tools and how these tools can be implemented within their institution.

OUTLINE OF THE WORKSHOP
In the Workshop, hands-on experience will be provided in the following tools of Google.

  • Google Classroom
  • Google Drive
  • Google Docs
  • Google Sheets
  • Google Forms (Survey and Quiz)
  • Introduction to other tools of Google: Google Drawings; Gmail; Google Calendar; Google Hangouts; Google Sites; Google Groups; Chrome; YouTube; Google Maps/Earth and Blogger

RANGANATHAN SOCIETY FOR SOCIAL WELFARE AND LIBRARY DEVELOPMENT
Ranganathan Society for Social Welfare and Library Development (RSSWLD), Greater Noida, GB Nagar, UP, a society registered under Societies Act 1860, came into existence in 2009 with the primary goal of the intellectual development of the underprivileged sections of society. The vision of the society is “To improve the proficiency level of underprivileged students by providing essential educational resources.” RSSWLD is working in four major areas: Women empowerment, organizing capacity building programmes, rendering philanthropic services & taking up the issues of national concern and opening & strengthening the libraries especially in rural areas and jails. Since 11 years of its establishment, RSSWLD has been a pioneer to provide a platform to educators for knowledge sharing.

This workshop is intended for multiple audiences including School Teachers, College Lecturer and LIS Professionals, Research Scholars & People from Corporate.

Maximum number of Participants is thirty (30) and that too on the first come, first-served basis
